A sofa is only as honest as the frame you cannot see. This page describes what we build with, and why.
Frames
Kiln-dried hardwood, corner-blocked and doweled, with joints glued and screwed rather than stapled. Frames are engineered to be sat on daily for years, not to hit a price point.
Suspension and seat
High-resilience foam over a sprung base, layered so the seat gives on contact and recovers when you stand. Density and layering are specified per model; the figures for each piece are listed on its product page.
Covers
Dense boucle, textured flatweaves and brushed cottons, chosen for how they age rather than how they photograph. Composition and rub count per fabric: [FABRIC SPECIFICATIONS TO CONFIRM].
Wood and metal
Solid oak and walnut with a low-sheen oil finish, and powder-coated steel where a piece needs a thinner line than wood allows.
