How to judge a sample
- Look at it in daylight and again under the lamps you use at night. Boucle in particular shifts noticeably.
- Hold it vertically against the wall and flat on the floor. Pile fabrics read darker in one direction than the other.
- Put it next to your rug, curtains and floor before you decide, not next to the screen you chose it on.
