Every week
Vacuum upholstery on a low setting with a soft brush head. It removes the grit that dulls a weave long before any stain does.
Every few weeks
Rotate and plump loose cushions so they wear evenly. Fixed seats benefit from a firm pat along the front edge.
Spills
Blot immediately with a clean, dry, light-coloured cloth, working from the outside of the mark inwards. Do not rub and do not soak. A water ring on some weaves is harder to remove than the original spill.
Cleaning codes
Cleaning codes differ by cover, and using the wrong solvent is the most common way a sofa is damaged. The code for your fabric is on the care label under the seat: [CLEANING CODES PER FABRIC TO CONFIRM]. When in doubt, ask us before you apply anything.
Boucle
Loose loops are normal and are not a fault. Trim a pulled loop level with scissors; never pull it out.
Oiled wood
Wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately. Re-oil roughly once a year, or when the surface starts to look thirsty: [RECOMMENDED OIL TO CONFIRM].
Light and heat
Keep pieces out of prolonged direct sunlight and at least 30 cm from radiators. Natural fibres fade, and dry heat shrinks them.
