Size

Two blocks, side by side, and almost nothing else. The seat is one long cushion split down the middle, the back is two more, and the arms are single wedges of upholstery that lean in from the ends. It sits 66 cm high, which is low, and it is meant to be.

A fine cord is sewn along every edge — the top of the arms, the front of the seat, the seam of the back. On a shape this plain that cord is the whole drawing.

The cover is a dense chenille in a pale greige that shifts warm or cool with the light in the room. The base is a recessed dark plinth, so the blocks appear to rest straight on the floor.

100 cm deep. In three lengths: 220, 240 and 260 cm.
