A charcoal bed drawn with one line. A fine piped seam runs the whole outline of the headboard and along the top edge of the base, and it is the only detail on the piece — the thing that keeps a large, soft mass from going shapeless.

The headboard leans back a few degrees rather than standing upright, which is what makes it comfortable to sit against without a pillow behind you. The base is deep, upholstered to the floor, with a cut-out at the foot end.
