Boule Bench

A cream cushion laid into a rounded walnut tray, carried on two turned wooden spheres. The spheres are the piece: they lift the tray just clear of the floor and give a long, flat object a reason to be looked at from the side.

At 35 cm it sits low, lower than a chair. That makes it a bench to put shoes on, to set a tray down on, or to run along the foot of a bed without cutting the room in half.

Three lengths: 100, 120 and 140 cm.
