Configuration

A wide three-seater in cream, built out of straight, generous blocks: a deep base, two upright arms and three loose seat cushions that sit level with the arm tops. Nothing tapers and nothing curves.

What holds it together is a fine cord sewn into every edge. It traces the arms, the base, the back and each cushion, and it is the reason a piece this soft still reads as a drawn shape rather than a pile of upholstery.

The back is finished like the front, so it can stand away from a wall.
