Not a sofa against a wall but an island in the middle of a room. Every part of it is a thick slab of ribbed corduroy stacked on another, and at 172 cm from front to back it is as deep as a bed is long — two people can lie on it head to head without touching.

The backs are loose cushions rather than built-in, so you decide where the back is. Push them all to one side and it is a daybed. Split them and it faces two ways at once.

The cord is wide and deep, the kind you can put a finger into, and it runs horizontally round every block so the whole piece reads as stacked layers.

80 cm high. In four sizes, from 125 cm to 300 cm across.
